Success and happiness....

25 Apr, 2024

I find it curious that so many people determine a persons success by the clothes they wear, the car they drive, the education they've garnered, the amount of $$ in their bank account, and or the address they reside in. Once all those are gotten or achieved, then it is assumed the person is "successful", therefore happy. As they've all the symbols required by society to determine such a conclusion....right? After all isn't that what happiness is....achieving ones goals, gaining all desired possessions. But what if someone finds success in just being happy. What if someone is happy with just the basics in life....shouldn't that too be celebrated and seen as being successful? I think whenever, and whereever a person finds happiness that means they are then successful.....and they've achived the most important goal. So perhaps instead of being impressed by material objects, the educational achievements, or the $$$ in someones bank account, look deeper, and ask is that person happy.

Happiness should be something we all strive for. And from person to person, happiness means something different. Be considerate, be understanding of this. Your ideal of it may not be someone elses. So never measure yours to theirs. Doing so is a sign you aren't happy....think about that. Happy people don't compare themselves to others, nor do  they put down those who aren't like them. They're to busy enjoying all that makes them happy....
